#flashbackfriday
Good morning!!! Happy Quarantine Friday!! Woke up to the sad news of Bill Withers passing away. It seems like we need his songs more than we have in ages. More on that here It’s #flashbackfriday, my nostalgic moment comes from a conversation that I had with my cousin. My family is huge, I know…everyones is but really, mine is HUGE. My cousin ‘Jr.’ was the only family my age that grew up around me though. Our family is very East Coast centered yet, our parents raised us in The Bay Area. Back then 3000 miles was a lot further away than it is now. Anyway, we’re cousins but, our existence was more like that of brothers….we both have brothers so, I know. He lived in Oakland, I was across The Bay in San Francisco. Public transportation was our ticket to each other and, basically whatever we wanted to do, wherever we wanted to go. Those were the days of return deposits for soda bottles, we paid for many excursions by taking empty bottles to the store and getting the deposit. The pic featured, the streetcar, used to be my favorite mode of transportation….I can smell that pic. Anyway, if you get bored today, take some time to flashback to some dopeness. Yup. Have the dopest of Fridays
