#flashbackfriday

Good morning!  Happy #flashbackfriday  and, we’ve left April behind. May Day, I ‘ve  a celebration of workers is what the dictionary says so, let me start by saying THANK YOU to all of the areas essential personnel.  The weather for the weekend is looking good, sunny and warm…. I mean…well, you know.  Hey it’s still the weekend.  As we get closer to the reopening the state, remember to check here or call 211 for the most up to date information, we’re not out of the woods yet.

My #flashbackfriday pic is of one of my favorite albums.  Released in 1977, Be Thankful was Natalie Cole’s second release of the year.  Yeah, the industry was different back then. On the heels of her hit I’ve Got Love On My Mind , she was still able to generate excitement over the new album and songs like Our Love, Annie Mae, and Just Can’t Stay Away, En Vouge did an awesome cover of the latter on their debut album Born to Sing.  Ray Parker Jr. and jazz heavyweight Lee Ritenour played guitar on the album, a well produced #RnB joint in my opinion.  If you get a chance this weekend, take a listen here .
