Good morning! Hope the weekend was great!  It wasn’t though, huh…started out so cold.  Let me help you with the hash tag title of this post.  In the song “Award Tour” by A Tribe Called Quest, rapper Phife asserts ‘I’ll never let a statue tell me how nice I am.’  When I heard that line, I knew immediately that he was talking about an award, like a Grammy.  Last night, rapper Drake kinda made the same claim in his acceptance speech for his win for Best Rap Song “Gods Plan.”  Now….J Lo…J No…J WTH, why was she the feature in a Motown tribute…instead of like…um…Motown artists.  Plenty of current Motown artist.  Plenty of current artists that have a ‘Motown Sound.’  None of these is J Lo.  It was an involved production, probably more suited for Vegas than, the biggest music showcase of the year!  Look, I’ve loved ‘looking’ at J Lo since the days of “In Living Color” but, I really don’t even have a FAVORITE J Lo cut and, I doubt many people I know do either.   Congrats to winners already in rotation though:  H.E.R. won Best R&B Album, Record of The Year went to Childish Gambino for ‘This Is America’, ‘Best Part’ by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R. took the hardware for Best R&B Performance, we can discuss the rest on the air.  Pour another cup and turn the radio up…….yup.
