#Septembanites

What’s good? I’ve been listening to these cuts for a minute now.  You know I’m always searching for new (or new to me) R&B and, I love a good remix. A little of that on this playlist. Enjoy. Temps are changing, so are the activities and moods. Yo! Just want to remind you these are the uncut versions.

Cascade (Lovers Quarrel Mix) – Stokely.  Same Lyrics as the original, minus The Bonfyre. This is tailor made for the quiet storm. Nice remix.

Slow Down remixVann Jess f Lucky Daye.  Lucky’s voice is the only difference here, still it feels newer.  For me, it replaced the original.

Break Her Heart For MeKirby.  Soft airy ultimatum.  There’s no way this song was written from imagination, she felt this. KIRBY explains how this became a song in lieu of social media bombs here.

PromisesCleo Sol. Cleo is dope, her songs are long and, a for real vibe. Her latest project Mother is giving all the greatness. You’ll get lost in the chorus.  This KNOCKS!!

Red LightsRINI f Wale. RINI came to my attention a while ago with his cut Meet Me In Amsterdam, Australian born, absolutely American influenced. A slow jayum in traffic . Wale has a verse, this is a a slow jayuum! Well produced, dope vocals. Knocks.

You Want My LoveEarth, Wind, and Fire f Lucky Daye. Decent cut consistent with the current trend of interpolating R&B staples. I like it, I like Lucks vocals, makes me miss Maurice White though. This is EWFs’ Cant Hide Love ….again.

Foreign ThingsAmber Mark. This one is fun. Dance, chill, or just sing along to this joint.

KindnessKWAYE. L.A. based Zimbabwean singer/songwriter/actor switches the vocals all the way to a bold falsetto on this one. Very now. Knocks.

You Comfort MeJames Vickery f EARTHGANG. He’s from South London, he sings R&B… well. James Vickery taps EARTHGANG for a  bouncy appreciative jayum.

MagnoliasLeon Bridges.  By the time I heard the chorus for the first time, this was my favorite LB song. From his newest project Gold Diggers Sound, this is the most contemporary R&B I’ve heard him. This is my favorite song right now.

Peep here.
