Tyler, The Creator fans have a new project to listen to: the rapper’s released his brand-new album. Titled Chromakopia, it’s comprised of 14 songs and boasts appearances from Sexyy RedGloRillaLil WayneScHoolboy QChildish Gambino and more.

Daniel Caesar contributed to songwriting, helping to compose lead single “St. Chroma” and “Tomorrow.” Q-Tip is credited as a co-composer for the song “Darling, I.”

All the themes heard on Chromakopia are based on his mother’s wise words, Tyler explained at a listening party, according to Rolling Stone.

“Now that I’m 33, all that stuff is like ‘oh that’s what the f*** she was talking about,” he said. “‘Oh, I’m not the guy I was at 20. Oh s***, people are getting older, folks having kids and families.’ All I’ve got is a new Ferrari, that does feel kind of weird. I’ve got a grey hair on my chest. Life is life. I just wanted to write about stuff I think about when I’m dolo’ing.”’

Chromakopia dropped Monday at 6 a.m., a far cry from industry standards. Explaining his decision on social media ahead of the release, Tyler said, “YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT WHEN YOU WAKE UP, YOU DONT HAVE TO DEPRIVE YOURSELF OF SLEEP FOR SOMETHING THAT IS GOING TO BE THERE WHEN YOU WAKE UP.”

Chromakopia is now out on streaming platforms.
