#vinyl

Good morning!! Hope your #throwbackthursday is off to a great start. I don’t know why but, I’ve really been feeling records…. I mean, I’m always feeling music but, recently nothing sounds, feels like putting wax on a turntable and hearing the lint before the jayum. Maybe because Monday was National Record Day. There’s a romantic nostalgia to the sound, even if the music is new. I wish I could find the words to explain it better. My record collection is just a fragment of what it once was but, there are some absolute jayums in there. This past weekend I spun David Ruffin, Earth Wind and Fire, Natalie Cole, Cameo, New Edition, and Full Force. I get that some of you….most of you, had to google most of those acts. There’s been a turntable in my life all but maybe the last 5 years, usually two or more. I’ve gotta say thanks to my friend that gifted me one after a discussion about vinyl. Do you have actual records? Still spin them? Does it hurt when there’s a scratch or chip in them? I just recently got my feelings hurt when I grabbed my ‘Off The Wall’ album and noticed a chip. I’m talkin’ HURT Yo! Anyway, it’s #throwbackthursday and we’re getting ready for the Island Glow Party at DARE Day Club this weekend so, pour another cup and turn your radio up……yup
